Rajon Rondo was suspended two games by the NBA for throwing a ball at a referee after not getting a foul call in the third quarter of the Celtics-Pistons game Sunday. Rondo definitely was fouled by Greg Monroe so it’s easy to see why he was frustrated. Tossing the ball at the ref was unsportsmanlike, but a two-game suspension seems excessive. When you’re talking about a shortened season, two games is a lot. Maybe Rondo will appeal and bring it down to one. I honestly am surprised he was suspended at all, but it’s clear the NBA is working harder to protect referees against any form of player abuse.
