Report: Raptors interested in signing Greg Monroe

Greg Monroe Bucks

After sacrificing some depth in their trade for Kawhi Leonard, the Toronto Raptors could be turning to a well-known veteran to help round out the roster.

TSN Sports’ Josh Lewenberg reported Saturday that Greg Monroe is among the names the Raptors are considering for one of their final available spots.

The 28-year-old Monroe averaged 10.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in 20.4 minutes per game in 2017-18, spending time with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Phoenix Suns, and the Boston Celtics. His value has cratered in recent years, but Toronto could use another frontcourt player after trading away Jakob Poeltl, who played all 82 games for them last season, in the Leonard deal.

The Raps also seem all-in on a title run this coming season, and that may be good news for a player like Monroe, who has had a rough go of things lately.
