NBA reporter makes guarantee about Bronny James’ rookie season
Bronny James is facing a lot of uncertainty as he begins his NBA career, but one veteran reporter knows one thing that is definitely happening with him.
Zach Lowe of ESPN appeared this week on “The Bill Simmons Podcast.” During the episode, Lowe made a notable guarantee about the Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Bronny — Lowe guaranteed that Bronny will be on the NBA roster on opening night and play in the game in order to share a moment with his father LeBron James.
“He is 100 percent playing in the opening game so they can have a moment together,” said Lowe, per ClutchPoints. “That’s going to happen, so they [can] pass to each other or whatever it ends up being.”
The Lakers begin the season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22. It appears that will be the stage for LeBron, 39, and Bronny, 19, to become the first-ever father-son duo to play together in the NBA.
Otherwise though, Bronny, the No. 55 overall pick during this year’s draft, is not regarded as anything close to an NBA-ready prospect right now. After opening night, he will likely spend much of his rookie year developing his game in the G League (with the Lakers recently hiring his expected new coach too).
