The Phoenix Suns have been named as a potential dark horse team in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes, but according to one reporter, that talk isn’t worth paying attention to.
According to Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic, the Suns “will not” trade the first overall pick in the NBA Draft for Leonard under any circumstances.
The Suns will not, despite what you might have read elsewhere, trade the No. 1 pick for Kawhi Leonard. Not happening.

That’s a pretty definitive statement for something that seemed unlikely to begin with. Unless the Suns were going to get a long-term commitment from Leonard, which seems like it would have been unlikely, it simply doesn’t make much sense from where they are as an organization. Plus, reports indicate that Leonard has a different destination in mind.
