Richard Jefferson reportedly will not retire after trade to Atlanta
Veteran forward Richard Jefferson intends to continue playing despite going from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Atlanta Hawks.
Various reports indicate that the Cavaliers are close to sending Jefferson and guard Kay Felder to the Hawks in a move that will help cut their luxury tax bill and clear some roster space. The 37-year-old Jefferson, some thought, may call it a day upon being moved from a contender — but that will not be happening, according to The Vertical’s Chris Mannix.

Jefferson thought about retiring during the offseason, so it was not illogical to wonder if he’d reconsider that decision upon moving from a contender to a team that probably won’t be in the running for a championship this season. The answer is apparently no.
