Rockets break out red carpet fashion show, DJ for player arrivals
Whether the Houston Rockets win or lose this season, they’re going to make sure they look good while doing so.
The Rockets have a fashion-conscious team this season and are turning their pregame arrivals into mock fashion shows, accordingly. They have a literal red carpet and DJ playing music in the area where players walk into the arena at Toyota Center in Houston before games.

ESPN’s Stefano Fusaro says the red carpet and DJ will be there for the first three games and weekend games the rest of the season.

The Rockets feature James Harden and Russell Westbrook, who are two of the more fashion-conscious players in the league. But the rest of the team is too.
During an interview with GQ this summer, Harden claimed they might have the best-dressed team in league history.
GQ: Have you and Russell Westbrook discussed the idea of coordinating any looks for the pregame tunnel shot?
Harden: Nah, but don’t forget P.J. Tucker and Tyson Chandler. We got a nice roster of guys who love to dress and look good. The tunnel is going to be like a real fashion show runway, so we’re going to have to figure out a way to get some music down there. But everybody is going to look good in their own way, and that’s why it’s so dope.
GQ: You think you’ve got the best-dressed team in the NBA this year?
Harden: We might have the best-dressed team in the history of sports.
As long as Harden keeps rocking the snake outfits, I’ll be a fan. But they are just setting themselves up for so much criticism with this. Can you already hear it after every loss? “Focus more on basketball and less on fashion shows.”
