Things got a bit heated between two star players late during the matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.
With 1:46 left in Saturday’s game, Russell Westbrook was driving to the basket and fouled hard by Joel Embiid. Westbrook took a few moments to get up, but when he did, he went straight after Embiid.

Westbrook seemed to be caught up in the moment, as Embiid’s foul was hard, but didn’t appear dirty. It may have been that the Oklahoma City guard was put off by Embiid’s knee coming so close to his head.
On the other hand, Westbrook is fueled by rivalry. Maybe he saw the hard foul as a statement and wanted to respond to Embiid with one of his own.
