Russell Westbrook has a notable snub for one of his former teams

Russell Westbrook does not appear to have much love for one of his former teams, based on a video that made the rounds on social media Saturday.

Westbrook was in attendance, though not in uniform, for the Sacramento Kings’ preseason game against the Lakers on Friday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif. After the game, a small group of fans assembled for autographs, with several producing Westbrook jerseys for him to sign.

Westbrook signed an Oklahoma City Thunder jersey and Houston Rockets jersey without issue. When confronted with two Lakers jerseys, however, Westbrook balked. After spending a moment looking for something else to sign, he eventually handed the fan a wristband and moved on.

One can certainly understand why Westbrook does not have fond memories of his time with the Lakers. While he averaged 19.6 points per game for the team over two seasons, he shot 29.7 percent from three-point range and wound up losing his starting job. By the end of his tenure, he was a sparkplug off the bench, but was clashing with coaches and dealt with a lot of hate and criticism.

Westbrook agreed to a one-year contract with the Kings earlier this week, making them his seventh NBA team. He might be extra motivated when the Kings face the Lakers, which might be beneficial since he does not appear to have a lot of job security on his new deal.
