Referee Scott Foster was a little bit frustrated while trying to initiate an official review during Sunday’s Eastern Conference quarterfinals game.
Foster was working Sunday’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. when he had to check replay for a potential flagrant foul on Andre Drummond just over midway through the first quarter. A frustrated Foster did not seem sure if the microphone was working, and even slammed his hand on the scorer’s table in frustration as he tried to talk.

Foster ultimately wound up announcing the review on his second try, though he did not sound excited about it at all.
Announcing a review is definitely one of the more perfunctory aspects of Foster’s job. If anything, he just wanted to get on with the check, which turned out to simply uphold the initial call on the floor.
Foster is one of the NBA’s most high-profile referees and is not exactly wildly popular. Seeing him frustrated will probably make fans pretty happy, though not necessarily as much as seeing him get bloodied during a game did.
