Shaun Livingston would like to return to Clippers

Shaun Livingston appears to want his NBA career to end right where it began.

Speaking this week at his Pride of Peoria basketball camp in Illinois, the veteran guard said that he would like to return to the LA Clippers.

“That would be awesome, the ideal fit,” said Livingston of the Clippers, per Dave Reynolds of the Lincoln Journal Star. “That would be a part of coming full circle. But it has to work on their end. If there’s a spot, an opportunity, that would probably make the most sense. There’s been some interest [on the Clippers’ part]. It’s about whether they’re ready to pull the trigger.”

The 33-year-old Livingston, who was waived by the Golden State Warriors this summer after winning three titles with them, was drafted by the Clippers back in 2004. He spent the first three seasons of his career in Los Angeles before a catastrophic knee injury in 2007 spelled the end of his time there.

While Livingston is a non-shooter whose skills have eroded some with age, the Clippers are thin at the guard spot behind Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, and Landry Shamet and would benefit from adding the lengthy veteran. Granted, they may be targeting another former Warrior to fill out the roster instead.
