Steph Curry gets calf worked on during Game 1

The status of Steph Curry’s calf is something to keep your eye on moving forward in the NBA playoffs.

Curry played 35 minutes, which was less than what Draymond Green, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson all played in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets on Monday. He exited with a minute left in the third quarter and did not return until midway through the fourth quarter. His absence seemed extended, which led to questions about whether he was battling an injury.

ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported that Curry was getting his right calf area worked on before re-entering the game.

Curry shot 8-for-15 in the game for 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists. He made just 1 of 5 3-pointers. Even without Curry at his best, the Warriors have so many options that they can still beat the team with the best record in the league pretty easily.

“He’s still in the first stages of his comeback from his injury,” Steve Kerr said of Curry after the game.

Curry returned from a knee injury in the team’s previous series against the Pelicans.
