The Minnesota Timberwolves may have complaints about how Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals series with the Golden State Warriors went on Tuesday, but the Warriors have complaints of their own too.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr responded on Wednesday to the Timberwolves complaining. Minnesota coach Chris Finch said that the team had sent videos to the league office complaining about the way Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert had been handled. Kerr responded by saying he was not happy with the way Steph Curry was treated by the Timberwolves and officials.

“I was upset the first 10 minutes of the game. It was just like Houston all over again. They’re bear-hugging Steph. They could have called six fouls, but the league has established the physicality in the playoffs. To me, it’s crazy out there what’s happening. Everybody’s fouling each other,” Kerr said.

“I think they could have called a foul six, seven straight possessions with them guarding Steph. And so I’ve got my complaints, too. Trust me. We all do. … I’m getting ready to send my own clips into the league.”

Kerr says he thinks the officials need to set the tone early by calling fouls early in the game, otherwise the physical level of the contest can get out of control.

The Warriors were called for 18 fouls in the game, compared to 21 for the Timberwolves. Draymond Green was called for four fouls, but nobody else on either side had more than four.

Kerr complained about the way the Timberwolves were all over Curry. The two-time league MVP suffered a hamstring injury in the game and will miss at least one week.
