Timberwolves players boycotted TNT for interesting reason

The Minnesota Timberwolves were a tight-knit group right up to the end of their playoff run, as evidenced by one move they made late in the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

According to a new story from Jon Krawczynski and Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Timberwolves collectively decided that no player would appear on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” postgame show following the team’s Game 4 victory. The Timberwolves made the move in protest of the presence of Draymond Green, as the team found Green’s criticisms of Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns to be over-the-top and needlessly personal.

Green is a long-standing critic of Gobert, and that continued during this series. His presence on the TNT desk during the season seems to have irked the Timberwolves, especially since there were times that it openly seemed like Green wanted the Mavericks to win the series.

Green has been a longtime contributor to TNT even as an active player and is almost certain to move into media work once he ends his playing career. He might have to be a bit more even-handed if he does not want to offend other teams in this fashion.
