Tony Allen could be an option for Celtics?
After trading away two of their top perimeter defenders this summer in Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder, the Boston Celtics may be pursuing a familiar face.
Celtics reporter Brian Robb of the Boston Sports Journal mentions First Team All-Defensive guard Tony Allen as a potential option for the team, noting that Boston has a guaranteed roster spot left and the veteran’s minimum to offer.
FWIW, Celtics are over the cap, so would only have veteran's minimum to spend on free agents. One name that intrigues me: Tony Allen.

The 35-year-old Allen actually began his career with the Celtics, playing there for his first six seasons in the league and winning the 2008 NBA title with them. He still remains unsigned as an unrestricted free agent.
Though The Grindfather may still want to return to the Memphis Grizzlies, having another defensive stopper off the bench alongside Marcus Smart could really help the Celtics round into a true championship contender.
