Twitter buries LeBron, Cavaliers for quitting in Game 4 of sweep
The Cleveland Cavaliers went out with a whimper in Game 4 of the NBA Finals and were swept by the Golden State Warriors. It was a rough way for them to go out, especially after how close Game 1 was.
The Cavs only scored 13 points in the third quarter, began with LeBron James on the bench in the fourth, and appeared to give up. Their poor effort in the second half at home of a Finals sweep led to plenty of criticism.
Here’s a look at some of the comments about them on Twitter:
The #Cavs know they’re defeated. LeBron knows he has to move on. This is just terrible to watch. The white flag has been waived. #NBAFinals pic.twitter.com/K1A0NHsUyx

I’m Team LeBron, but getting swept and losing the final game at home is a bad look.

Just a reminder that LeBron is about to be the greatest player to get swept twice in the NBA finals.

The Cavs have the highest payroll in the league. Getting booed in the Finals as they are in the process of getting swept.

The Quit is real.

Even the Cavs hype man has given up

This is the second time in his career that LeBron James has been swept in the Finals. Though some will ridicule him for that, the more measured observers will recognize what an accomplishment it was for him to take the ’07 and ’18 Cavaliers to the Finals in the first place. This team easily could have lost to the Pacers or Celtics. They were completely overmatched against Golden State.
