Twitter reacts to Derek Fisher landing LA Sparks job

Derek Fisher

Derek Fisher has been hired to coach a professional basketball team in Los Angeles, only it’s not the Lakers.

Fisher will be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Brian Agler resigned as the team’s head coach last week, leaving a vacancy that will be filled by the former NBA player and head coach.

After playing from 1996-2014, Fisher became a head coach of the New York Knicks. His tenure went poorly as the team was only 40-96 under him. He was fired part way through his second season amid an unprofessional scandal involving his girlfriend and another NBA player.

Many of the initial Twitter reactions to the news were negative, with folks alluding to some of Fisher’s questionable past actions.
