Tyson Chandler clears waivers, expected to sign with Lakers
Tyson Chandler has cleared waivers and is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Chandler was placed on waivers after reaching a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns. He gave back $2.1 million of the $13.5 million he was set to earn this season because he will be receiving that from the Lakers.
Chandler will sign a prorated veteran minimum contract with the Lakers. It will be for approximately $2.1M, which replaces the money he gave back to the Phoenix Suns in his buyout. https://t.co/B5Cye1PcLI

The Suns are looking to give some of the minutes Chandler was seeing to former second-round pick Richaun Holmes.
On the Lakers, Chandler would mix in the rotation at center with JaVale McGee and potentially Ivica Zubac. Even at 36, most of Chandler’s appeal remains on the defensive end.
