Caitlin Clark appeared to enjoy a botched shot by Angel Reese in the clutch in Sunday’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream.
With the score tied 81-81 with seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Dream had control of the ball and a golden opportunity to win the game at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga.
However, the Dream missed three shots in a row, including one from point-blank range from Reese, who tried to score on a putback off a miss by teammate Rhyne Howard. Naz Hillmon had the last attempt before time expired in regulation, but her attempt also did not find its mark.
Reese was understandably frustrated by her miss, and the broadcast caught her reaction just as Clark passed behind the Dream forward, seemingly laughing.
Here is a video of that entire sequence.

Clark and Reese have long been viewed as basketball rivals, dating back to their college days with the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers, respectively. It is easy to add color to Clark’s reaction after those missed shots from Atlanta, though it could also just be more of a relief than schadenfreude on her part.
That miss by Reese ended up haunting her and the Dream, as the Clark-led Fever escaped State Farm Arena with a 95-91 win.
Clark paced all Fever scorers with 26 points on 9/20 shooting to go with nine assists, while Reese scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, but shot a horrible 5/16 from the floor.
