Fred VanVleet did his best tribute to Russell Westbrook during Saturday’s Three Point Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend.
The Toronto Raptors guard had a performance to forget at the All-Star event. VanVleet’s very first shot attempt of the opening round missed horrifically and careened off the side of the backboard. Take a look.

Though VanVleet rebounded a bit to post a score of 16 points, the brick set the tone for the rest of his round. He failed to get the 21 points necessary to avoid elimination and ended up being a one-and-done in the competition.
VanVleet is better in actual game settings. He is shooting 40.1 percent from deep this season and 38.8 percent for his career. But that shot on Saturday was an absolute cinder block, the likes of which fans have not seen in the NBA since this pathetic attempt at a three-pointer.
