Report: People with Warriors think they will get Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant

There has been a lot of chatter lately suggesting that the Golden State Warriors will be in the mix for Kevin Durant when he becomes a free agent after the season. At least one report says some in the organization think they will be able to land the former MVP.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard shared the news during a segment on ESPN.

“There are people in Golden State that think they’re getting him,” Broussard said. “People in management, and I think some players, too.”

Broussard has been wrong with his reporting many times in the past (as Mark Cuban among others can attest), so we don’t necessarily put a ton of stock into what he says. However, he’s not the only one who has said this.

Last week Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Warriors would be the favorites to land KD if he leaves the Thunder. That’s also a big if. There is no guarantee that the four-time scoring king will leave Oklahoma City and buddy Russell Westbrook. For now Durant has said he is only focusing on his current season with the Thunder, which would include trying to beat the Warriors, not join them.
