Report: Wizards have no intention of trading Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal has been mentioned as a potential trade candidate this summer in the wake of his career-best season, but the Washington Wizards apparently have no plans to entertain that talk.

Jeff Goodman of Stadium is reporting with confidence that the Wizards are not going to trade Beal this summer.

Bradley Beal isn’t going anywhere. Washington Wizards have no intention of dealing Beal.

— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanHoops) June 20, 2019

Washington is expected to offer Beal a three-year, $111 million extension in the coming weeks, though he could turn that down in hopes of becoming eligible to sign a supermax deal a year from now. Either way, it sounds like Washington wants to build around the 25-year-old guard rather than shipping him off as part of a complete rebuild.

Beal averaged career-highs across the board this past season with 25.6 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. One potential avenue for him to be traded has already closed, and it sounds like there will not be any others.
