Women’s basketball legend Nancy Lieberman delivered some strong advice for Caitlin Clark on Wednesday.

Lieberman, who is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and considered an icon in women’s basketball, joined FanDuel’s “Run it Back” on Wednesday. She was asked for her opinion of Chennedy Carter’s infamous foul on Clark in their WNBA game on Saturday and weighed in.

“If I were Caitlin Clark, I would have punched [Carter] in the face,” Lieberman said. “I’m from New York, and I would have told [Carter] to f-ck off.

“And that would actually cure the problem. … but damn, where’s Caitlin Clark’s teammates? I’d be p-ssed as s–t at my teammates that nobody came to my defense.”

Lieberman then talked about “enforcers” protecting their best players in hockey and basketball. She believes someone — like a teammate — needs to step up to help Clark.

Lieberman also pointed out how popular, game-changing players like Clark or a Michael Jordan in the past, had the ability to popularize an entire league. She believes that needs to be protected to an extent.
