Sergey Kovalev arrested for DUI in Los Angeles
Boxer Sergey Kovalev was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles early Monday morning.
Kovalev was stopped by California Highway Patrol around 2:00 AM, and the trooper who pulled him over believed the boxer was under the influence and arrested him on suspicion of DUI, according to TMZ Sports. Kovalev was taken to a station and booked before being released later that morning.
Kovalev, 36, is also in the middle of a felony assault case in which he allegedly attacked a woman in 2018 who rejected his sexual advances.
Kovalev is 34-4-1 (29 KOs) in his career. All four of his losses have come in his last eight fights — two to Andre Ward, and his most recent loss was to Canelo Alvarez in November.
