Report: Cal to make Jason Kidd top coaching target
Jason Kidd tops the list of coaching targets for the vacant Cal coaching job, according to various reports.
The Golden Bears reportedly decided to fire coach Wyking Jones on Sunday, opening the job up. Multiple reporters immediately indicated that Kidd, a former Cal point guard, would be the primary target to replace him.
UNLV won’t move on Jason Kidd, but source told @Stadium that Kidd will be among Cal’s top targets. Former star point guard at the school. But will be interesting to see if Kidd will wait and see if he can get Lakers job when it opens.

(Cont.) Cal’s primary target, I'm told by a campus source, is expected to be Jason Kidd … as next men's basketball coach in Berkeley.

Kidd most recently coached the Milwaukee Bucks, who fired him in January of 2018. All of Kidd’s coaching experience has come at the NBA level, so he lacks a track record in the college game. It’s also not clear if he would be interested, as he still gets looks from NBA teams with vacancies.
