Chuma Okeke issues statement after suffering ‘serious’ injury
Chuma Okeke issued a statement supporting his teammates following his leg injury suffered against North Carolina on Friday.
Okeke led Auburn with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the upset win over the Tar Heels. He got hurt on a non-contact play with eight minutes left in the game. In his statement, Okeke supported his replacements.
Chuma Okeke sent this quote through an Auburn spokesperson: "I'm really proud of our team. We were able to make history tonight. We do not drop off when we go to our bench and we'll be ready for whoever we play on Sunday."

Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl said he feared the injury was serious. Okeke is scheduled for an MRI on Saturday.

Auburn will next play on Sunday in the Midwest Regional final in Kansas City.
