If Louisville needed any motivation entering the NCAA Tournament, they certainly received it from Doug Gottlieb.
When it was revealed on CBS’ selection show that the Cardinals received a No. 4 seed in the tourney, Gottlieb questioned whether they deserved that high of a seeding.
“I think Louisville is overseeded here, guys,” Gottlieb said. “They’re not the same since they lost Chris Jones for the year. They’re living a little bit on reputation.”

As usual, Gottlieb speaks the truth. Louisville is 24-8 but has gone 3-3 in games without Jones, who was dismissed over multiple issues, including sexual assault allegations.
Louisville will face UC Irvine in Seattle on Friday in their first-round game.
