Ed Cooley is maintaining a great sense of humor about splitting his pants while coaching in the Big East Tournament.

Cooley split his pants during the Big East Tournament final against Villanova on Saturday, which his Providence Friars ultimately lost in overtime. He ended up improvising by covering up the tear with some Gatorade towels.

As of Monday, Cooley was still joking about his pants and making a fashion statement by continuing to wear a towel — only this time he was using Powerade towels.

Cooley’s Friars made it into the Big Dance as a 10-seed and will face Texas A&M in the first round. Jay Wright thinks they are prime candidates to pull an upset.
