Alvaro Folgueiras looks like the early star of this year’s March Madness.
The Iowa forward Folgueiras was the hero for his team during Sunday’s Round of 32 matchup against Florida. Folgueiras sank the game-winning three-pointer with 3.9 seconds remaining to give Iowa a 73-72 victory and punch their ticket to the Sweet 16 (see the video here).
After his game-winner, Folgueiras was interviewed by CBS’ AJ Ross. During the interview, the junior Folgueiras dropped an awesome five-word line as part of his remarks.
“March is for the dreamers,” said Folgueiras. Here is the video.

Folgueiras, a native of Spain, is very much a role player for the Hawkeyes. He came into Sunday’s game against Florida averaging a modest 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as almost exclusively a bench player for Iowa.
But that is exactly the type of player that tends to become immortal during March Madness. With his 14 points (including the huge game-winner) on Sunday, Folgueiras knocked out the defending champion Gators and also got the Hawkeyes into their very first Sweet 16 since 1999.
