Iowa coach Fran McCaffery curses out ‘cheating’ referee after loss
Iowa coach Fran McCaffery went off on a referee after the Hawkeyes lost 90-70 at Ohio State on Tuesday night.
McCaffery and his son, Connor, were called for technical fouls late in the second half of the game, about a minute apart. The techs gave Ohio State six free throws, which they made, helping them push their lead from 11 points to 15 (Iowa scored a basket in between the techs).
Fran was pretty steamed after the game and apparently cursed out an official in the hallway, according to the Toledo Blade’s Kyle Rowland.
“You cheating motherf—er! You’re a f—ing disgrace!” McCaffery screamed at the official, according to Rowland.
The coach declined to answer when asked about the incident.
Fran McCaffery was just asked about the post-game incident with the officials. His response: "Can't talk about that."

The behavior is disgraceful but not surprising coming from McCaffery. In 2012, McCaffery smashed a chair during the second half of a loss to Michigan State. Two years later, he was ejected for bumping a referee during a loss to Wisconsin. Two seasons ago, he told his team not to shake hands with an opponent.
Some sort of discipline from the Big Ten should be coming for McCaffery, who continues to embarrass himself with his behavior and accusations.
