Kentucky announced on Thursday that they have an agreement that will keep them playing men’s basketball games at Rupp Arena through 2033.
The current lease between Kentucky and the Lexington Center Corporation for Rupp Arena was expiring at the end of this season. The new deal will keep the Wildcats’ men’s basketball games at Rupp for another 15 years.
As part of the deal, Kentucky will pay $1.8 million a year to have 28 events at Rupp Arena. They will be able to control multimedia rights and the sale of souvenirs at games.
Rupp Arena has been the home of the Wildcats since 1976. It holds a capacity of 23,500 for basketball games.
