LSU was eliminated from the women’s NCAA Tournament on Sunday with a loss to UCLA, and a look head coach Kim Mulkey gave one of her players in the previous round helped sum up the disappointment Tigers fans felt.
Junior guard Flau’Jae Johnson struggled for long stretches during the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. She scored just four points in the first half on Sunday before coming alive in the second half to finish with 28, but UCLA still beat the Tigers 72-65.
Johnson scored just three points in LSU’s 80-73 win over NC State in the Sweet 16 on Friday. After Johnson went scoreless in the first half of that game, Mulkey was seen giving her player an absolutely ruthless glare.

Mulkey is a very animated coach who has gone viral for her colorful sideline antics on numerous occasions. The look she gave Johnson during the Sweet 16 wasn’t even the coach’s only “if looks could kill” moment this season. We also saw a death stare from her during a regular-season game last month.
Johnson averaged 18.6 points per game during the regular season, so her inconsistent play in the tournament was a surprise.
