Luke Maye answers Malik Monk with game-winning shot
Luke Maye may have been the hottest shooter on the floor in the fantastic Elite Eight game between Kentucky and North Carolina on Sunday, and he punctuated that with a clutch game-winning shot.
North Carolina was up 73-30 and Justin Jackson had a 1-and-1 free throw situation, but he missed. Kentucky got the ball and went the other way for a 3-pointer, which Malik Monk made to tie the game with 7.2 seconds left.
Although the Wildcats had improbably tied the game, they had no time to celebrate. The Tar Heels went the other way and Maye made a jumper from just inside the 3-point line to make it 75-73, which ended up being the final score.
