Mo Bamba laughs off question about returning for sophomore season
Mo Bamba brushed off a question about returning for his sophomore season with laughter.
Bamba arrived at Texas as a highly-touted recruit as has not disappointed during his first year on campus. The 19-year-old big man has averaged 13 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per game this season on the way to All-Big 12 honors.
While Bamba has enjoyed a successful freshman season, the likelihood of him leaving for the NBA is high. When asked if he would return for a second year in Austin, Bamba laughed off the question.
Mo Bamba asked if he’s coming back to Texas next season and he just laughs.

Bamba’s impact has been felt throughout the conference this season. In January, Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard had high praise for Bamba’s defensive abilities. Beard is probably one of a few coaches around the Big 12 who wouldn’t be particularly upset if Bamba declared his intentions to turn pro later this year.
