Nigel Hayes trolls NCAA with College GameDay sign
Wisconsin basketball player Nigel Hayes, a critic of the NCAA’s stance on paying college athletes, took a stand on Saturday when ESPN’s College GameDay came to Madison.
Hayes appeared with a sign calling himself a “broke college athlete” and requesting help to pay the bills.

Hayes added some context to his sign with tweets on Friday.
$40,000, I'm out of state.
In State:
Cost of Attendance – $25,294Yeah, $25,000 a year is "not bad".

It has been discussed by some parties how much certain athletes could make if they were merely allowed to profit off their names, much less be paid. Hayes feels the system is unjust and is ready to deal with the criticism that will come with saying so.
