Sister Jean pleased Loyola Chicago busted her bracket

Sister Jean

Sister Jean is quite happy that her own school — Loyola Chicago — busted her bracket.

Sister Jean, the 98-year-old team chaplain for Loyola Chicago, picked her Ramblers to reach the Sweet 16 in her March Madness brackets. While she anticipated them going farther than most, she still had them losing. They proved her wrong.

After the Ramblers beat Nevada on Thursday to reach the Elite Eight, one of the team’s players, Clayton Custer, reminded her that she had picked them to lose.

“I don’t care that you broke my bracket,” Sister Jean told CBS of her response to Custer.

“I’m ready for the next one. This is a great feat for us. I have to say that Nevada did play an excellent game, there’s no question about it. They made our team pull up to them. We did it. We our just so proud of them and have every reason to be and will continue to be that,” Sister Jean told CBS.

The Ramblers will face the winner of the Kentucky-Kansas State game in the South Region finals. This is the deepest NCAA Tournament run for the school in over 50 years. Sister Jean’s magic needs to continue working for three more games.
