Steve Forbes gives great speech prior to NCAA Tournament game (Video)
Prior to his team’s first round game against Florida, East Tennessee State head coach Steve Forbes gave quite the pep talk.
East Tennessee State went into Thursday’s game as underdogs to Florida. That said, Forbes wasn’t about to let his team feel overmatched. In the locker room prior to tipoff, Forbes stood in front of his team and gave a fiery speech. Included in it was a line that would make Rick Pitino smile when Forbes said, “Horford, Noah, and Brewer ain’t coming out of that tunnel.” Take a listen below.

Al Horford, Joakim Noah, and Corey Brewer were members of the Gators team that won back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. Forbes was making the point to his team that this Florida team is good, but not as great as those teams.
Unfortunately, there won’t be anymore quality speeches from Forbes this tournament as East Tennessee was on the wrong end of an 80-65 final score. He certainly did his part to make sure the Buccaneers felt like they belonged though.
