Report: Tom Crean meets with Pitt
Tom Crean seems destined to be back in the game sooner rather than later.
Jeff Borzello of ESPN reported on Wednesday that Crean met with the University of Pittsburgh this week to discuss their head coaching vacancy.
The 51-year-old Crean, who has nearly 20 years of head coaching experience between Marquette and Indiana, failed to land a job for the 2017-18 season after being fired by the Hoosiers almost a year ago exactly. He is currently working as an analyst for ESPN.
As for Pitt, they just let go of head coach Kevin Stallings after a putrid season in which they went 8-25 (including 0-18 in conference play) to finish 15th out of 15 in the ACC. Crean would obviously be a strong candidate to help turn around their culture, but he appears to have other options on the table as well.
