Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd is good for a memorable quote from time to time.
On Thursday, another one surfaced. With the Big 12 Conference tournament underway, and a brand-new LED, glass floor being debuted, the court design has drawn plenty of pushback.
However, Lloyd doesn’t seem bothered by it one bit following Arizona’s 81-59 win over UCF on Thursday at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.
“We’ll play on asphalt with double rims. We’re fine with that,” Lloyd said, via Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68.

Here’s another clip from a recent Big 12 Conference tournament game.

The new glass court caught plenty of pushback from fans, and it worsened on Thursday when Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson fell to the floor and injured his groin in the Red Raiders’ 75-53 loss to Iowa State at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Definitely been more players slipping on this floor at Big 12 tourney than usual.
This should probably be a one-and-done for this court at Big 12 tourney.
The Big 12 has to get rid of this slip ‘n slide court. Guys are slipping all over and now Christian Anderson, one of the best players in the league, just got hurt. Anderson holding his groin.

Watching Arizona players slip on this glass court is giving me tremendous anxiety. Can we just forfeit the Big 12 tournament after this game?

I think the best way to sum up the Big 12 court is this:

March is a time where no one can seem to agree on anything. Seeding, bubble, in/out, overrated, underrated, Player of the Year, etc…etc.
Yet, it seems everyone is in agreement that the B12's glass floor is truly awful.
The new court has certainly drawn mixed reviews from fans and analysts, and it might not last very long if injuries continue.
Kansas State forward Taj Manning also admitted he is not a fan of the court.
K-State forward Taj Manning was not a fan of the glass floor at the Big 12 Tournament.

"It's slippery. The lights caused Khamari (McGriff) to get a migraine. It's a bad court. They shouldn't bring it back. It's just an eyesore."
The new glass court from the Big 12 Conference might be one and done.
