Twitter reacts to Arizona’s blowout loss to Buffalo
Arizona suffered a stunning blowout loss to the little-known University at Buffalo in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, sending the Internet into an absolute frenzy.
The No. 4-seeded Wildcats fell to the No. 13 seeded-Bulls in a stunningly one-sided 89-68 affair. Bombarded by a three-point shooting barrage right from the opening whistle, Arizona completely collapsed in the second half and never made it back within single digits in the final 10 minutes of the game.
The loss capped a tumultuous season for Arizona, highlighted by the FBI investigation into head coach Sean Miller for allegedly discussing a $100,000 payment for star big man Deandre Ayton’s commitment to the program. That combined with Thursday’s Round 1 pummeling at the hands of a mid-major made for quite the slate of memes. Here is a sampling of some of the best:

Arizona couldn’t buy itself a basket there.

Smart move by Sean Miller. You can’t vacate tournament wins if you don’t win any tournament games. pic.twitter.com/qMW3WJZtRu

The Internet schadenfreude was definitely strong on Thursday, as it usually tends to be whenever Miller and Arizona are involved.
