Vanderbilt commits questionable intentional foul in loss to Northwestern
Vanderbilt’s Matthew Fisher-Davis made an extremely questionable play at the end of Thursday’s loss to Northwestern that cost the Commodores the lead in their game.
Vandy had just gone up 66-65 on a layup with 17.8 seconds left. That gave Northwestern the ball with some pressure to score to go ahead. But Vanderbilt did them a favor by intentionally fouling, putting junior guard Bryant McIntosh at the line.

McIntosh is an 86.5 percent shooter from the line and made both his attempts to give Northwestern the lead, 67-66.
McIntosh could very well have missed, but it seems like Vandy’s intentional foul made it a lot easier for the Wildcats to tie or take the lead.
Northwestern ended up winning the game 68-66, and Vanderbilt fans will walk away scratching their heads at the questionable move at the end of the game.
