Louisville coach Bobby Petrino wasn’t exactly thrilled with his team’s initial College Football Playoff ranking.
The 7-1 Cardinals, whose only loss came at Clemson, came in at No. 7 in the initial rankings. Petrino thinks that the Cardinals’ 63-20 win over Florida State should have made more of an impact on the rankings.
Louisville's Bobby Petrino: “Maybe I made a mistake. Maybe I should’ve left our starters out there against Florida State and scored 80.”

The problem for Louisville is that they lack any other impressive wins. As great as Lamar Jackson has been – and he’s received a lot of notice – they have a loss, and it was to an unbeaten team. There are four undefeated teams ahead of them, and they have a lot more to prove. It’s fair.
