Brian Kelly berates LSU holder after botched FG attempt
LSU head coach Brian Kelly was unhappy with his special teams unit Saturday after it committed several miscues against Texas A&M.
No. 8 LSU led No. 14 Texas A&M throughout the first half of their matchup at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. But the Tigers left a few points on the board as the team missed two of its three field goal attempts before halftime.
With LSU holding on to a slim 17-14 margin midway through the third quarter, the Tigers lined up for another field goal from 47 yards out. LSU holder Peyton Todd was not paying attention when the ball was snapped, leading to a fumble. While LSU recovered the football, the play still resulted in a turnover on downs.

Kelly laid into both Todd and long snapper Slade Roy after the botch job.
“You’ve got to get out there and get the f—ing operation going,” Kelly was heard saying.

The resulting turnover became the turning point in the contest. Texas A&M took advantage of its great field position and scored a touchdown to take its first lead of the game.
On LSU’s ensuing possession, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had his pass intercepted. The mistake again led to a Texas A&M TD. The Aggies eventually cruised to a 38-23 win.
Kelly wasn’t the only coach who went viral on social media for chastising his players. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer also laid into one a Crimson Tide player despite his team winning 34-0 over Missouri.
