Butch Jones looks like he could be on his way back into the collegiate head coaching ranks.
According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Jones has emerged as a “strong candidate” for the vacant Colorado State head coaching job.

Jones currently serves as an offensive analyst with Alabama. He had two very successful head coaching stints at Central Michigan and Cincinnati, and won nine games twice with Tennessee before the bottom fell out in a 4-8 2017 season.
The Rams are seeking to replace Mike Bobo, who was fired on the heels of a second straight losing season. The Colorado State job is considered one of the better Group of 5 openings available. Jones would be a decent get for them, though there are definitely some out there who are less convinced by his abilities than others.
