Coastal Carolina may have figured out the secret to drawing a big attendance at football games.
The Chanticleers revealed on Monday their new “CCU Kickoff Meal Deal.” Those who buy tickets to games will be able to enjoy food for free every time they visit the concession stands. Fans may make unlimited trips to the concesssion stands but have to scan in each time through the Coastal Carolina Athletics app.
Of course, there is a small catch. Fans are able to acquire four items each time they visit the concession stands: hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and fountain drinks. Anything beyond that, such as specialty items or alcoholic drinks, they would have to pay for. Still, that’s a pretty good deal, as a hot dog, nachos, popcorn and drink is enough to keep someone well-fed at a game.
All games. All fans. Feast for free.

Coastal Carolina had a great run from 2020-2022 under Jamey Chadwell, who later departed for Liberty. They went 11-1 in 2020, 11-2 in 2021, and 9-4 in 2022. They’ve fallen off a bit since then and went 8-5 in 2023 and 6-7 in 2024. Now it seems they’re getting creative to bring in the fans in 2025. It seems to be a great idea, at least for now.
