With college bowl season comes bowl-themed haircuts, and at least one San Jose State player unveiled one of the better ones earlier this week. According to Dan Steinberg of D.C. Sports Bog, the head you see above appears to belong to safety Cullen Newsome. The Spartans will take on Bowling Green in the Military Bowl on Thursday, and Newsome decided to honor the occasion with a bowl-themed buzz cut that also includes the San Jose State logo.
Newsome’s haircut is almost as detailed as the one Raptors forward Amir Johnson recently unveiled, but he’s lacking color. Perhaps he didn’t want dye running all over his head while wearing a helmet. Some of these smaller bowl games don’t get the hype they deserve, but kudos to the players for taking the time to appreciate the occasion.
