Ex-NFL RB DeMarco Murray lands college assistant coach job at Arizona
Former All-Pro running back DeMarco Murray has entered the coaching profession.
The Arizona Wildcats announced today that Murray, a longtime Dallas Cowboy, will join the school’s staff as running backs coach, his first post-playing role.
“DeMarco brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our running back room,” Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin said in an official statement. “That, with his attention to detail, passion for the game and passion for impacting others will make him a great addition. Our entire staff is excited for him to join our organization.”
Sumlin recruited Murray to Oklahoma in 2007 while serving as the school’s co-offensive coordinator, and clearly didn’t forget about him in the decade that followed, even after both left the school.
Murray retired from the NFL last July at just 30 years old. He spent the 2018 season working as a college football analyst.
