Deon Cain posts apology on Instagram
Clemson wide receiver Deon Cain posted an apology on Instagram Wednesday after he was sent home from the Orange Bowl following a failed drug test.
“I apologize to any and everyone I hurt or let down,” Cain wrote on Instagram. “I’m gonna learn from this mistake and become a better person on and off the field. I’m determined to come back stronger than ever before! #beatOU #orangebowl”
This is the second time Cain has been suspended this season. The second-leading receiver for the Tigers, Cain has recorded 34 catches for 582 yards and five touchdowns.
He also seems to have found religion since the suspension, writing in a second Instagram post that God has a plan for him.
The good news for Cain is that his Tigers career is not over. Head coach Dabo Swinney said that Cain will have a chance to return to the program.
Dabo Swinney: Deon Cain will have a chance to return "if he grows up." Cain has now been suspended twice this season.
