Houston quarterback D’Eriq King says there was never anything to reports about him seeking a transfer.
Initial reports Monday suggested that King was seeking to transfer after opting to redshirt for the remainder of the 2019 season. King denied that this was ever on the table on Tuesday, saying that the chatter of a transfer was fake news.

This is pretty authoritative from the quarterback, and it’s also what the school has said. Essentially, King is punting on this year to play again in 2020 and preserve his eligibility. Of course, the firm denial is rather strange, considering that the word of his transfer came directly from a quote from his father. Perhaps some wires got crossed there.
