Derrick Henry wants to be drafted by the Cowboys
Derrick Henry has an ideal destination in mind when the NFL Draft comes around.
The Alabama running back and Heisman winner wants to be selected by the Dallas Cowboys.
“I feel like it has a great organization,” Henry said, via Alabama.com’s Michael Casagrande.
Henry received a second round grade from the NFL Draft advisory board, and he intends to prove them wrong.
“I feel like, just because I got my grade, it doesn’t mean I’m not going to be first round,” Henry said. “I feel like what I do and how I test at the combine and work out. I feel like I will be first round. There’s no doubt in my mind that I won’t be.”
Dallas could use a running back. Joseph Randle didn’t work out, and while Darren McFadden did manage to collect a thousand yards on the season, he’ll be 29 next season and isn’t a long-term solution. If Henry is there in the second round, he may be worth a shot, although he may want to temper his expectations on how good the Cowboys’ organization is.
