The news comes a day after the school confirmed Durkin would return as head coach. That came on the heels of a report that found the school’s football culture was not toxic following the death of Jordan McNair. The board had been prepared to stand by Durkin, but in the face of enormous outcry, including from several elected officials, the school has backed off and will move on.
